Recently Mark Zuckerberg(Owner of Meta), revealed about WhatsApp’s new upcoming feature in his Facebook post. He Stated “We’re rolling out a new disappearing messages option on WhatsApp today so you’ll be able to make all new chats disappear by default after 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days. Not all messages need to stick around forever.”
The post was shared with a screenshot in which the actual working of the feature was revealed, further he added that we will have the option to disappear our message after 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days after the message will be sent. WhatsApp is adding it as a privacy feature, WhatsApp kept on working to be the best end to end encrypted conversation app. There still can be a way to crack this feature and save the message permanently but we hope WhatsApp should provide the best of it and keep on improving their privacy features.
Is this feature for individual conversations also?
According to WhatsApp, this feature will be enabled and disabled for individual chat only which is a great thing. The message will be not only deleted but also invisible like it was never sent by that person.
How to set up the Auto Disappearing message feature?
To enable auto disappearing message feature in WhatsApp, follow the following steps:

Open WhatsApp on you mobile phone

Tap on any conversation

Tap on the 3 dots icon in top right corner

Select contact info option

Click on Disappearing message

Select whether you want to auto disappear your message after 24 hours, 7 days, 90 days.

If you already have an option selected and you want to turn off this feature then you can simply select the OFF option.
