WhatsApp to introduce Status Privacy Shortcut

Meta-owned whatsapp is working to roll out a shortcut for whatsapp status privacy update, currently we have to go to whatsapp settings, then accounts, privacy, status and then we are able to update the status privacy settings. Sometimes we forget to change the privacy settings before uploading a confidential status that should not be seen by some of your contacts. As they say prevention is better than cure, So keeping this thing in mind, whatsapp is working on a new whatsapp status privacy shortcut through which you will be able to easily change the whatsapp status privacy.

Now whatsapp is working on a new update in which they are going to add a new shortcut for changing status privacy settings. WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot related to that feature, in which we can see that the status privacy shortcut is at the bottom right corner, clicking or tapping on this button will redirect us directly to status privacy settings.

What is Whatsapp status:

Whatsapp status is a feature in meta owned whatsapp, through which you can share your memories, events and your everyday stories. Everyday, there are millions of stories uploaded on whatsapp by whatsapp users. If you want to share a video on whatsapp status, then there is a time limit of 30 secs which means you can only post a video with 30 secs of maximum duration. But there is no limit for image uploading, you can upload loads of statuses at a time.

Whatsapp Status Privacy:

Whatsapp does provide privacy settings for your statuses, as mentioned above, there is something that you don’t want to share with some contacts, with whatsapp you can have different privacy settings that can match your situation and provide you your desired privacy. There are three useful options for whatsapp privacy:

• My Contacts
• My Contacts Except
• Only share with

If you choose the first option “My Contacts”, then your whatsapp status will be shown to everyone in your contact list. If you want to restrict a few contacts to view your whatsapp story, then you can select the second option. Whatsapp will show you your contact list, you can select the contacts you want to restrict, they will not be able to watch your stories until you unselect them from that list. There is a third option for you which can be useful if you want only a few of your contacts to view your story. You will be redirected to the similar list but this time only the selected one’s will be able to view your story.

The method is quite simple but lengthy as compared to the new update in which whatsapp is going to introduce a shortcut for whatsapp status privacy settings. Following are the steps you should follow to access your whatsapp status privacy settings.

• Click on the top right icon in Whatsapp.
• Go to Settings.
• Go to Accounts.
• Then Tap on privacy.
• In privacy you will see a “Status” option, tap on that option.
• Now 3 privacy options will appear.
